Purebred, ANKC Registered Pedigree Puppies ARE NOT AVAILABLE “off-the-shelf”. You will need to develop a relationship in the first instance with a breeder in order to be deemed a suitable home for one of their babies.
Schwartzhund Rottweilers steps to develop this relationship are.... Step 1. Have a conversation - text/e-mail etc don’t cut it! I can usually pick in the first few minutes if you may be considered the right person for one of my puppies. I never discuss price at this point as I have nothing to sell - you are the one to be accepted as a potential puppy buyer, therefore it’s you who should be selling yourself.
Step 2. Agree to a time and date for face to face meeting, I usually do this at Dogs SA grounds (Kilburn SA) at a dog show - I like to see how you (& your family) interact with my dogs and how they interact with you.
If accepted as a potential New Schwartzhund Puppy Parent - I’m happy to keep in contact by e-mail/text - anything you may need clarification on or updates on the up and coming litter.
Step 3. You’ve made the list - Congratulations! This means when the litter is born there will be a puppy held for you... DON’T put your name down on other breeders lists as I expect 100% commitment from you at this point - if you’ve changed your mind, that’s fine - just let me know as a basic courtesy well in advance please. I will keep you updated as to the puppies progress as they develop.
Step 4. Once past 4 weeks of age, I’ll invite you/you & your family to visit, this is mainly for me to ascertain the right puppy for you/you & your family.
Yes... the choice is the breeders, we know which puppy is best suited for you - understand we spend hours watching these guys and have a seen their personalities develop since birth. A deposit will be expected to secure your puppy at this stage - usually around 1/3 of the asking price.
Step 5. I’ll send via e-mail Shopping List and soft copy of Schwartzhund Puppy Information Book including the Sales Contract - you will need to read and understand this (if any questions - contact me).
Step 6. FINALLY!! 8-10 weeks on from Whelping.... You get to collect your new puppy. You will need to allow a good hour (aside from travelling time) as I will go through each page in your Puppy Book to ensure you are completely conversant with it, sign the contract and balance receipted. Be sure to bring someone else to drive you as you will need someone or something - a crate for instance, to contain your Precious cargo!
Step 7. Once you are home a cursory call or message to let me know all is well please! For the life of your new family addition pics and updates are truly appreciated... they were my kids first remember 🐾🐾🐾🐾
Please consider we are not making an income from our puppies, in fact we are lucky to break even - we have to work (full time & some) in order to keep our wonderful breed - so please call between 6:00pm & 8:30pm
Hope to meet you on “the other side”.... stay safe & healthy!
A GREAT READ - Click on this photo for a link to Puppy Buyers Etiquette .... not written by me but I agree with this breeders ideals.
I do not breed to fulfil "Pet Orders", I breed only to advance my lines! Puppies are NOT available "off the shelf" and will only be available to genuine homes who are able to satisfy my criteria. A Schwartzhund Rottweiler is another family member not just a Dog!
In the 27 years since Schwartzhund Rottweilers Prefix has been registered I have bred only 9 litters, testament to my ongoing commitment to breed only for the improvement of The Rottweiler.
All Breeding Stock are screened for Hereditary Diseases (including JLPP & SAS) and Certified 'Breed Worthy' in accordance with The National Rottweiler Council Breed Survey Scheme.
All Puppies are Microchipped, Vaccinated, Health Checked and raised on a natural diet & Meals for Mutts; details of which will be included in a Comprehensive Puppy Information Booklet and MfM - Meals for Mutts Puppy Pack supplied to all new owners.
You will understand a lot of time, commitment and financial outlay have been put into, research & development of my breeding; therefore to purchase a Schwartzhund Rottweiler is a Privilege NOT a Right!
All puppies are sold under Breeders Sales Terms, including a desexing clause. I have found this desexing clause a necessity as there are dog dealers who purchase puppies for the sole purpose to on sell to the likes of Puppy Farms/Mills; I WILL NOT contribute to their profits or be party to the disgusting treatment of their animals! Nor do I wish to contribute to the ever increasing number of dogs on death row in Animal Welfare Shelters across the country due to the 'ill-informed' breeding from any of my puppies.
